Two ways. In Translation Mode, type or speak in your own language and tap the arrow (→) to translate it into Korean. In Direct Practice, type or paste a Korean sentence directly. See the User Guide for a full walkthrough.

In Translation Mode, the microphone in the input box listens in your native language, not Korean — you speak what you want translated. To practice speaking Korean, use the large mic button at the bottom after a target sentence is set.

번역 모드의 입력창 마이크는 한국어가 아니라 선택한 모국어로 인식합니다 — 번역하고 싶은 말을 모국어로 하세요. 한국어 발음 연습은 학습 문장이 설정된 뒤 하단의 큰 마이크 버튼을 사용합니다.

PhonetKor needs microphone permission to record and score your pronunciation. Go to your device's System Settings > Apps > PhonetKor > Permissions and allow Microphone. On iOS, also check Settings > Privacy > Microphone.

발음 녹음·채점을 위해 마이크 권한이 필요합니다. 기기의 설정 > 앱 > PhonetKor > 권한에서 마이크를 허용하세요. iOS는 설정 > 개인정보 보호 > 마이크도 확인하세요.

Your recorded audio is analyzed by a cloud speech assessment service (Microsoft Azure) against the target sentence, producing a single accuracy score from 0 to 100 shown on a circular gauge. It's a learning metric to track improvement, not a clinical acoustic analysis.

녹음된 음성은 클라우드 음성 평가 서비스(Microsoft Azure)가 학습 문장과 비교 분석해 0~100점의 정확도 점수를 원형 게이지로 보여줍니다. 향상도를 확인하는 학습 지표이며 임상적 음성 분석은 아닙니다.

In Settings, set TTS Playback Speed (0.75×–1.5×) and Listening Repeat Count (1×–5×). Then tap the speaker on the practice card; tap it again to stop.

설정에서 TTS 재생 속도(0.75×~1.5×)와 듣기 반복 횟수(1×~5×)를 지정하세요. 연습 카드의 스피커를 누르면 재생되고, 다시 누르면 멈춥니다.

Add a question mark (?) to the end of your sentence (e.g. 어디예요?). The standard audio is then read with a rising, question-like intonation. Remove it for a normal statement.

문장 끝에 물음표(?)를 붙이세요 (예: 어디예요?). 그러면 표준 발음이 끝을 올리는 의문문 억양으로 읽힙니다. 평서문은 물음표를 빼면 됩니다.

Yes, for the core practice loop. Translation, the standard pronunciation audio, and pronunciation scoring are processed by cloud AI (OpenAI and Microsoft Azure), so an internet connection is required to translate sentences, hear audio, and get a score. Your saved sentences, scores, settings, and tier are stored locally on your device.

핵심 연습 기능에는 필요합니다. 번역, 표준 발음 음성, 발음 채점은 클라우드 AI(OpenAI·Microsoft Azure)로 처리되므로, 문장 번역·발음 청취·채점에는 인터넷 연결이 필요합니다. 저장한 문장·점수·설정·등급은 기기 로컬에 보관됩니다.

Free allows up to 10 pronunciation evaluations per day and shows ads. Premium gives unlimited evaluations, removes ads, and unlocks saving & re-practicing sentences in your library. The daily count resets at midnight in your local time. Premium is monthly or yearly, with Restore Purchases available.

No account is required — just install and practice. For scoring and translation, only your audio and practice text are sent to the AI providers; no names, emails, or personal identifiers are included, and your voice is not used to train external models. You can grant or revoke AI processing consent anytime in Settings. See the Privacy Policy.

Translation Mode voice input uses your device's built-in speech recognition. On Android, ensure Google Speech Services is installed and updated. On iOS, ensure Siri / Dictation is enabled, as it powers the system speech recognition.
