PhonetKor Privacy Policy

PhonetKor is built privacy-first. Its core practice loop runs entirely on your device — no account, no login, no PhonetKor server. Your practice data, scores, and flashcards never leave your phone.

                    【We collect】
                    Nothing on PhonetKor servers — PhonetKor has no backend.
On the free tier only: Google AdMob (our ad provider) collects standard advertising data (advertising identifier, device info) per Google's policy.

                    【We don't collect】
                    Your name, email, phone number, or location
Your voice recordings — speech recognition runs through your device's built-in speech service
Your practice content or scores — all stored locally on your device

Third Parties

Google AdMob — serves ads on the free tier; collects standard ad data per Google's policy. Removed entirely with the Lifetime Premium purchase.
App Store / Google Play — processes the one-time Lifetime Premium purchase (billing only).
Your device's OS speech services (Apple / Google) — used for text-to-speech playback and speech recognition.

Where data lives

On your device: all practice data, flashcards, SRS state, settings, and daily stats (local Isar database)
A random anonymous device ID is generated locally on first launch and is never transmitted
Nothing on PhonetKor servers (there are none)

Your rights

Delete the app = permanently delete all local PhonetKor data
Use Export Data in Settings to back up before uninstalling; Import Data to restore
Limit personalized ads via your device's OS privacy settings (or buy Lifetime Premium to remove ads entirely)
