PhonetKor Terms of Service

Last Updated: May 6, 2026

Article 1 (Definition of Service)

'PhonetKor' refers to the mobile Korean-pronunciation-training app and associated web materials provided by Pracsol Inc. ('Company'). The service includes a listen-speak-score practice loop, flashcards, spaced-repetition review, built-in situational expressions, and a phonological learning aid.

Article 2 (License)

The Company grants a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use PhonetKor on devices you own or control. This does not transfer ownership of the app or its intellectual property.

Article 3 (User Obligations)

Users must not: (1) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app; (2) attempt to bypass ad display or premium gating; (3) misuse the app in ways that disrupt other users or the service; (4) redistribute or commercially exploit app content.

Article 4 (Practice Score Disclaimer)

PhonetKor's pronunciation score is a learning-support metric derived by comparing your device's speech-recognition transcript to the target text. It is NOT a scientific phonetic analysis and should not be treated as an authoritative assessment of pronunciation. Speech-recognition accuracy varies by device and environment.

Article 5 (Third-Party Services)

PhonetKor uses Google AdMob for advertising on the free tier, App Store / Google Play for in-app purchases, and your device's OS speech services for text-to-speech and speech recognition. Using PhonetKor means you also agree to be bound by Google's terms (https://policies.google.com/terms) and your platform's terms.

Article 6 (Intellectual Property)

The PhonetKor app code, UI, brand, and built-in content are the exclusive property of Pracsol Inc. User-generated learning data (flashcards, attempts, progress) belongs to the user and remains stored locally on their device.

Article 7 (Modifications)

The Company may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at its discretion. Material changes affecting availability will be announced in-app at least 7 days in advance when reasonably possible.

Article 8 (Limitation of Liability)

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of locally stored learning data, dissatisfaction with learning outcomes, or limitations of device speech-recognition/text-to-speech support.

Article 9 (Governing Law)

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court.

Article 10 (Changes to Terms)

The Company may revise these Terms; material revisions will be posted here with an updated effective date and announced in-app at least 7 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
